In the first case, the electric motor is often located on the suction side of the fan, while in the second case it is often. located on discharge side30
If the car moves in fog or under Rain along with the air stream, water droplets can get on the electrical circuits of the engine, which. may lead to destruction of the insulation and device failure.
The aim of the invention is to prevent water from entering the electric circuits of the electric motor, regardless of the location of the electric motor (discharge or intake side) with respect to the axial fan.
To achieve this goal, the foot is made U-shaped and its concave part is turned in the direction of the air flow generated by the axial fan, and the air intake hole is placed along the radius of the casing opposite the concave part of the foot.
In FIG. 1 is a front view · in the direction of air flow; FIG. 2 is an axial section AA in FIG. 1; in FIG. 3 is a partial front view along arrow B of FIG. 2, i.e. view of the electric motor from the side of centrifugal blades placed on the shell of the rotor; in Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the engine on an enlarged scale along line BB in FIG. 3; in FIG. 5 is an axial, howling section of engine AA in FIG. 1, but for a forced ventilation device installed behind a radiator to draw air through it. from
An apparatus for forced air po- e cottages intended for installation in front of the radiator 1, the engine cooling system of the internal combustion apparatus comprises an axial fan 2 provided with a drive from the electric motor 3 disposed inside the circular shell 4, and the 'ny on the hollow rotor 5, one of the portions 6 which is made cylindrical, a system of centrifugal blades 7, 15 located inside the rotor 5, and a casing covering the electric motor 3, 8, rigidly connected with the shell 4 of the legs 9, provided with a concave part 10, facing bi in the direction 20 of the movement of the main air flow 11 created by the fan 2.
The casing 8 is provided with at least one air inlet 12 located behind the side wall 13 of the housing 25. The air stream 14 drawn in by centrifugal vanes 7 is shown in FIG. 2.
The air stream 14 cooling the electric motor enters the zone __ through the hole Ϊ6. ’Θ
The air stream 17 after passing through the fan blades. 2 before it enters the curved part 10 of the foot 9 is freed from water droplets 18.
The operation of the device is 35 as follows.
The blades of the axial fan 2 create and accelerate the main air stream. 11, blown through the radiator 1. Centrifugal blades 7 absorb 40 stream 1.4 of air cooling the electric motor 3.
The air stream 14 enters through the intake holes 12, blows around the inside of the electric motor 3 and enters the space enclosed 4 between the engine 3 and the end wall of the hollow rotor 5. The cooling air stream is pumped into the zone 15 through. the holes 16 and then is picked up by the blades of the axial fan 2. The air entering through the holes 12 and the cooling motor 3 is drawn from the main air stream 11, sucked by the blades of the axial fan 2 and moves in the direction of the stream 17 before entering the concave parts of the legs 9. However, to get into the concave part 10 of the legs 9 stream 17 should change direction by 180 °. With this change in direction, the air is freed from droplets · of water 18, which it carries with it and which tend to continue its movement in the previous direction of flow 11. Thus, the ingress of water along with the air flow to the working parts of the electric motor 3 is excluded.
The implementation of the foot in the U-shape also contributes to the same effect.
